Year 1: 20 years ago, this precious girl was born. She came into our lives strong and determined. Over the first year, she taught us so much. She loved sleeping with her blankie and did not like sleeping in our bed. That changed not long after.
She loved watermelon, still does to this day. She had her cleft palate surgery during her first year. .
I thought she would struggle without being able to suck on her thumb. She proved me wrong. She insisted on eating this ice cream cone all by herself, but had restraints on her arms to keep from opening the stitches in her mouth. She never threw a tantrum.. she just refused to give up. She was also determined to learn to walk.
